After hiking up a steep gully from Soldier Lake, I was greeted with this breathtaking view. What a fantastic reward after slogging up a steep gully from Soldier Lake. This image was taken at the south end of Miter Basin looking north. There was a subtle veil of white smoke filling the air at this high elevation from a nearby wildfire. As unfortunate as the fires were, it provided the perfect softness of color and contrast for this picture. This landscape would be stunning in any home | Miter Basin, High Sierra, CA
